IMPORTANT VISA INFORMATION
Applying for a visa to visit the USA can be a time consuming process so it is important to find out firstly whether you need a visa and, if so, details on the visa application process. The visa application process will vary from country to country. It is important to have all the documentation ready well in advance, including invitation letters. Please check carefully the validity dates of any documentation required and how far in advance a visa might be issued and how long it might be valid for.
Three months or longer is usually needed to apply for an US visa. In some cases this might involve a one month permission review, one month visa checking time and other handling time. Sometimes it is necessary to book an appointment time for which there can be difficulties to get a slot at busy times.
It is advisable to start the visa application process at least 6 months in advance, please, contact the organizers to request your letter.
It can be a very tedious process. Worse case scenario is that the visa might be refused. If this happens, then neither the IBS nor the organisers of the 30th ISB will be able to help you reverse the decision.
